Grow Your Practice
This course provides students with the opportunity to embody the IPPC’s motto to “do good and prosper” by providing them with the knowledge, tools and skills to build, grow or scale their existing practice into a thriving coaching business.
The course complements the Practicum whereby as students build their Positive Psychology Coaching skills, they are also enhancing their skills in shifting their focus toward a practice in positive psychology coaching.
Students will have the opportunity to increase their confidence and reflect on their practice in growing their business with support from the instructor and guest experts in the areas of marketing, branding, sales, public speaking, money mindset and pricing, and personal leadership.

During the The Business of Coaching course, you will:

Schedule, Format & Fees
This course is delivered online via four three hour live, interactive sessions on Zoom. In total, there are 18 live training hours across six months, plus assessments.
Month 1
Introduction and your niche
- Introduction to the course.
- Instructor led Coaching reflections on current coaching practice and business.
- Student discussions to address gaps in their business.
- Guest Speaker on discovering and/or refining your niche.
- How to target a niche market.
- Implementation.
Month 2
Marketing Part 1 - Creating Your Brand
- Reflections on last month’s topic on niche marketing.
- Introduction to creating your brand and storytelling.
- Instructor led exercise guiding students to complete a branding exercise questionnaire.
- The difference between PPC and delivering PPIs.
- Guest speaker presents on ways to build your personal brand.
- Closing thoughts/questions.
Month 3
Marketing Part 2 - Tactics to Elevate Your Business
- Reflection on last month class on marketing and building a personal brand.
- Introduction to marketing tactics for elevating your business.
- Guest speaker presents on specific marketing tactics on social media and visibility.
- Closing thoughts/questions.
Month 4
Public Speaking and Sharing Your Message
- Reflections on last month’s class on marketing tactics.
- Introduction to public speaking from guest speaker.
- Students participate in a breathing and visualization exercise to calm the nerves for public speaking.
- Triad coaching: students receive and give coaching on any challenges or resistance that they are experiencing regarding public speaking.
- Guest speaker shares tips and resources for public speaking.
- Closing thoughts/questions.
Month 5
Money Mindset & Pricing
- Reflections on last month’s class on public speaking.
- Introduction to money mindset and pricing.
- Instructor guides students in creative visualization to release disempowering beliefs and habits.
- Triad coaching: students receive and give coaching on any challenges or resistance that they are experiencing.
- Exercise on pricing coaching services and packages.
- Closing thoughts/questions.
Month 6
Effortless Sales
- Reflections on last month’s class on money and pricing.
- Introduction to a positive sales mindset and exercise to leading a discovery sales call.
- Each student walks a prospective client through a discovery sales call.
- Case study for negotiating a corporate contract, including addressing ethical guidelines.
- Closing thoughts/questions.

Meriflor Toneatto is a Positive Psychology Coach, an ICF Professional Certified Coach, mentor, entrepreneur and published author.
