Celebrating Five Years of IPPC

Five years ago, IPPC began as a quiet idea at my kitchen table amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.

During that time, I noticed a gap in the coaching industry and held a vision for deeper grounding in applied positive psychology through evidence-based coaching, stronger standards in coach education and training, and excellence in practice.

Underpinning that vision was a simple yet vital intention: to support human flourishing and wellbeing, especially at a time when they were needed more than ever.

What began as a vision slowly became something real.

Over the past five years, IPPC has grown into a trusted global learning community, with students, alumni, faculty, team members, and contributors from across time zones and cultures.

At its core, the IPPC is helping develop the next generation of applied positive psychology coaches. Through our flagship Certified Applied Positive Psychology Coach (CAPPC) program, IPPC offers a rigorous pathway for those seeking depth, excellence, and evidence-based practice.

As an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Level 1 and Level 2 accredited coach education provider, IPPC enables eligible students to pursue a direct pathway toward ICF credentialing at the ACC and PCC levels, bridging and integrating the science of positive psychology and coaching psychology with evidence-based coaching and professional standards.

Alongside our training programs and certifications, this growth has also given rise to the Journal of Positive Psychology Coaching (JPPC), a space where science and practice intersect. The journal was created to advance learning within the coaching community by translating research into applied insights that support practitioners and educators committed to advancing the field.

To mark IPPC’s fifth anniversary, we are sharing a video featuring messages from across the IPPC community — alumni, faculty, students, team members, and contributors. These reflections offer a glimpse into the people, values, and shared commitment that continue to shape IPPC and its work worldwide.

As we pause to acknowledge this milestone, I do so with deep gratitude for the journey so far and a continued commitment to advancing excellence in applied positive psychology coaching in the service of human flourishing and wellbeing.
